My nephews had their first Beignets at
Cafe' Du Monde over this Mardi Gras! What a fun tradition~ I was so glad I got to document the whole thing and have some fun with it!

Well since I've gone to art school....

Well since I've gone to art school there are a lot of things I've been very very busy with. I would love to share some of them with you guys since I've been absent so long. I plan to keep up with this at a much faster pace from now on. I will say I love and miss my photography friends in Mobile everyday and when things get rough or I start to lose focus I just think of the fun and enjoyable times we had in all those classes and shoots. Every one of you are my mentors. I love you guys, don't think I don't think of y'all everyday. Wish you guys were up here getting to shoot some of this stuff with me because I know we would just make the best time out of it and not take it too terribly seriously. :) Resulting in great amazing images. Well here are a few from my studio class right now and a project I've been working on - enjoy :)

An article to share....

This photographer has it right on the spot and I get asked this question a million times a day also so it's nice that someone shares my pain lol. This is the reason I don't sell CDs of images :)

The Artsy Part

In the middle of trying to capture all the best pictures I can of the riders on the float, I also get a chance to take some fun artsy pictures as I go :)

Mardi Gras Photos!

I've had the privilege of taking Mardi Gras Photos of most of the parades in Mobile this year! It's been a lot of fun but some seriously hard work! Trying to get the exact right exposure to include the people and the atmosphere of the "boom boom"'s (as we call them) is quite a challenging task along with how each float is lit. It is a constant battle between back lighting, no lighting on the maskers face~ ISO (trying to keep the least amount of noise as possible with it being so dark outside), the shutter speed with the moving float, Focusing on the moving target with a 2.8 lens (very limited area to keep the focal point) all while trying to catch the moment.... it's exhausting lol... to say the least. haha But I feel like they have turned out well so far! Some better than others ~ a definite learning experience for thinking on your toes. It's been fun! Many more parades to go...

Joshua Radin Concert

I got to take some photographs at the concert last night. It was a lot of fun! He was great! For sneaking in my old camera and a terrible lens I think some of these turned out pretty ok. It was nice to just take photos for fun again! After all the basketball I've been taking!
